<p>lastly, I phone is in the product leadership zone and using application innovation as it has crossed the chasm, since games are now widely available and the public has come to accept the ideas of more interactive games, and assiocate this feature with I phone.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0 0 10pt;"><span style="font-size:small;font-family:Calibri;">In this lecture I get to know the different types of lock -in strategies in buyers and sellers’ perspective. Beside this, in the past I only know that switching cost applies to customers only. But after reading this lecture, I get to know that switching costs applies to both customer and supplier.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0 0 10pt;"><span style="font-size:small;"><span style="font-family:Calibri;"><span> </span>I had been using StarHub plan for the past 5 years and paying a subscription fees of $30 monthly. In fact I don’t feel quite happy with the starhub line because of its poor reception. The reason why I don’t wish to change to other plan is because I loved to change phone. Starhub come up with the plan that after 1 year of the contract you will be able to upgrade your existing plan and get to enjoy a handphone in a promotion price. Therefore I had to wait for 1 year before my contract with starhub end and upgrade the plan in order to buy a new phone in a promotion price. If not, I had to wait for 2 years to end the contract with starhub in order to change a phone.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0 0 10pt;"><span style="font-size:small;font-family:Calibri;">Basically, starhub had always come up with attractive plans like giving freebies or free handphone when you upgrade your existing plans. So I am attracted to starhub plan. </span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-size:small;font-family:Times New Roman;">I Pod had been priced so aggressively that other competitors such as Creative had difficulties to match with. Although I Pod is not the first mover to launch MP3 devices in the market but I POD is considered as dominant firm that may not produce the best product but wins on size and economics of scale. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-size:small;font-family:Times New Roman;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-size:small;font-family:Times New Roman;">The next factor will be its unique design for MP3 devices such as slim and fashionable features which will be able to capture youngsters’ attention. Through that more and more youngsters are using it and IPOD had established a positive network and create a wide network. Therefore customers will think hard to switch different brand of products.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-size:small;font-family:Times New Roman;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-size:small;font-family:Times New Roman;">If I am a competitor, I will look into the market’s needs in the long term basis. Example, what will be the next fashionable MP3 devices’ design among the teenagers? I can do surveys among teenagers and based from the feedback launching a new brand for it to capture their attention.</span></p>

Inside Microsoft Office, I used Microsoft Words frequently. At first Microsoft launched Words in the market, and many users had adapted to it. Subsequently Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook had been bundled together with Words free of charge and sell the whole software as Microsoft Office. This will be the good marketing strategy to introduce new products in the market. Although I may not often use Microsoft PowerPoint, but since it had been installed inside Microsoft Office. Whenever I need to use, I don’t feel that there is a need to buy other PowerPoint software application. As more and more people is using it, it had been standardized using Microsoft Office.</SPAN></SPAN></SPAN></P><br />
<P class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"><SPAN><SPAN style="font-size:small;font-family:Times New Roman;">&nbsp;</SPAN></SPAN></P><br />
<P class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"><SPAN><SPAN style="font-size:small;"><SPAN style="font-family:Times New Roman;">There are 4 versions: Microsoft Office XP Professional, Microsoft Office 2003 Professional, Microsoft Office 2007 Enterprise and Microsoft Office 2007 Ultimate.</SPAN></SPAN></SPAN></P><br />
<P class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"><SPAN><SPAN style="font-size:small;"><SPAN style="font-family:Times New Roman;">As it is versioned this way, because different version of Microsoft Office had different system requirements. Customer can chose their different version based on their computer requirement. Microsoft 2007 Enterprise and Ultimate had been priced more expensive than other versions as it is more user-intensive. Big Corporation companies will be able to adapt using these particular versions instead of home-users versions.<SPAN>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </SPAN></SPAN></SPAN></SPAN></P></p>
